Psychosomatic And Psycho-Social Treatment

Greetings and welcome. It's been a busy year thus far here at EFT Tapping in Las Vegas. It's a double edged sword so to speak. Meaning, I get to earn a decent living, yet at the same time it means that there are a lot of stressed out people who need assistance. Let's get right to it with a couple definitions in regards to the title of this post.

Psychosomatic means mind (psyche) and body (soma). A psychosomatic disorder is a disease which involves both mind and body. Some physical diseases are thought to be particularly prone to be made worse by mental factors such as stress and anxiety. Your current mental state can affect how bad a physical disease is at any given time. (EFT Tapping in Las Vegas can assist with this!) Psycho-social rehabilitation, and sometimes simplified to psych rehab by providers, is the process of restoration of community functioning and well-being of an individual. (I can assist with this as well with great success!)

Here at EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, both psychosomatic and psycho-social issues are what I work with for the most part. The Mind and Body are One, yet the mind runs the body. Let's discuss an example from a client this past Saturday and see if you can relate.

I spoke to the client on the telephone several days prior to his visit, and he mentioned that he had a very traumatic mental experience back in 2004. Since that time, every time he is 'stressed out' he gets pelvic pain. As my primary employment is as a massage therapist, I told him we can work on trigger points around his pelvic area. At that time I didn't mention EFT Tapping in Las Vegas as I wanted to visit with him first in person.

As the client arrived early we had a chance to have a very long discussion. Please note that I am not a doctor or psychologist, yet what this client presented was a classic case of psychosomatic behavior. (In my amateur opinion.) During this discussion I kept mentioning this 'mental issue' that seemed to keep affecting his physical health. At first he really didn't want to hear much about it or EFT Tapping in Las Vegas; he was here to have me work on his trigger points. Yet, I explained that I worked with both the mind and the body and he was open to that.

During our physical treatment of massage, releasing his trigger points, I was happy to hear that he had ordered and received a favorite book of mine entitled, A Headache in the Pelvis, by David Wise, Ph.D. Thus, in my amateur opinion, he was on the right track. Mr. Wise has an excellent relaxation protocol, one similar to EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, which I think would assist this client a great deal. The client was also in contact with a physical therapist I know who performs internal trigger point therapy which is out of my scope of practice. Kudos to the client!

So, after our session was finished, I explained to the client that most 'physical body maintenance providers,' including myself with massage, address the symptoms, yet seldom get to the cause. (Which often times are stressful thoughts, repetitive movement or behavior.) I mentioned to him that until he gets to the cause of his ailment he may continue to have physical body issues. This opened his mind a bit to EFT Tapping in Las Vegas. He asked me more about it and what the process entailed.

Thus, we spent the remaining ten minutes prior to my next client arriving working on the EFT Tapping in Las Vegas protocol. Afterwards he seemed to feel much better, both mentally and physically. Which worked? The trigger point therapy or the Tapping? I'll say, probably both. I directed the client to further information in regards to EFT Tapping on the Internet and told him I'd offer him a free first session if he really wants to work with the protocol. In my humble opinion, he left our session educated, stress free and physically 'better' than when he arrived. And, that's really all I can ask for.

The main purpose of this post was to demonstrate an attempt to open a clients mind. Many physical ailments are not what they seem to be, especially when we get to the cause of it, not just the symptom. (Which is most often pain by the time they get in to see me.)

Please feel free to contact me for EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, which you can read about further, here: EFT Tapping In Las Vegas. If you are looking for massage, specifically Trigger Point Therapy Las Vegas style with me, visit that page.

As mentioned above, the Mind and Body are One. This isn't the post to go into all the details in regards to how the mind and body work together and how they mirror each other, but if you just think about it for awhile it may begin to come to you. You can also perform a Google search on Mind-Body Coordination.

Have a great day and I'll be writing more soon.

Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas Style

The holidays are often when I use Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style the most; a somber time of year for many clients, as opposed to being happy and festive. Why? Allow me to present several examples of what current clients are working through. Names have been change to protect their identity.

We have George, who needs Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style due to the fact that he's in a dead-end job and thinks he deserves better. He feels that he cannot provide the holidays gifts for his wife and kids because he doesn't earn enough money. Sure, he's grateful for having a roof over his head and a great family to love and care for, but that's not enough, for him. Then we have Mary. Her husband passed away three years ago and the holiday season always brings up negative emotions of her husbands death. As I'm also a medical massage therapist in Las Vegas, I spend a great deal of my time working on chronic physical pain for my weekly clients. Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style also assists with physical pain, yet hands-on treatment such as massage works great as well.

For most health care providers this would be a great time of the year, business-wise. Hey, we make a lot of money! Yet, I'm a funny bird. I don't see it this way. I use Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style to truly assist clients, not for the financial aspect. Sure, I need to earn a living also, but it just feels so wrong. Perhaps I'm just a dreamer, dreaming of a society of bartering or something in which money wasn't the trade for assisting peoples lives. I mean, most seem to spend a lot of money during the holidays and the last expense they need is to see a health care provider like me and spend more money. Sure, I do trade and barter with clients for medical massage as well as Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style. But for the majority, they exchange money for services rendered.

Do client get mental and physical relief from my services? You bet! They leave my office feeling like a million bucks! Yet, often times, I still feel guilty. And before you even ask if I do EFT Tapping myself to clear guilt and other emotions and beliefs, I do. I'm a tapping fool! Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style are performed daily. I'm certainly not immune to daily nuances, and need assistance like everyone else. Here is one area, the holiday season, which I direct clients to during every session: Gratitude.

Be grateful for what you have. I know I am! We are still in this world and have something to accomplish. If not, in my humble opinion, we wouldn't still be here. I guide clients to look at the little things. I guide them to pay attention, to critical thinking from the moment they awaken to the moment the drop off to sleep in regards to being grateful. Hey, you woke up, didn't you? Be grateful. It doesn't matter if it's cold out, raining or snowing, be grateful that you are here to witness everything. Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style assists with all these 'small issues' that we often don't even pay attention to or think about. Often, it's all these 'small issues' that create our negative thinking or bad moods.

Here is a key aspect to the Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style actually working for you: Do it! Perform the protocol. I can teach you the basics, and I can spend hours with you digging into all your emotions and beliefs, getting you clear for the time being. Yet, why pay me to assist you when you can do it yourself and save a ton of money? Sure, there are many traumatic issues that an advanced EFT Tapping practitioner such as myself can assist with. Yet, I'd like to see YOU work on yourself as well! Okay, I think that's enough for this blog post. Please do me a favor though, prior to calling me for assistance. Visit my webpage here, Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style and learn the protocol, first. If you really don't want to do this, then give me a phone call and we can work through the basics in my office. I'm currently offering a FREE introductory session on Emotional Freedom Techniques Las Vegas style. This usually lasts about an hour to learn the basics.

Let's get to tapping!

Stress Relief Meditation

Join us on our new page entitled stress relief meditation and learn relaxation along with EFT Tapping. I think it's been over a year since I've posted here due to the fact that I'm so busy with clients I don't have time to post! I've been teaching meditation along with tapping and have found out that many people have quit meditation due to the fact that it's quite difficult. It is! Thus, I needed to add a new 'premeditation' section to the page listed below. Why? Because most people don't have the attention span or attentive capacity to meditate. It's as simple as that. I'm not picking on you or anyone else; it's just what I see with clients.

Thus, with this new stress relief meditation it's very fast and produces results. The beauty of this technique is that you can perform it anywhere. It actually works best when we are in the midst of some stressful thoughts or some crisis. Just relax a moment, perform this technique, and you should be good to go in under a minute.

If you visit our paged listed here, Stress Relief Meditation and learn how to do meditation from the beginning, you will have a great deal more success in sticking with it. And that's the point, right? Give it a try and see if my new stress relief meditation works for you. I'll soon be adding an entire protocol to this 'premeditation'. The mind and body are One, not two, and the mind leads the body. (Yes, yes, I know. I've said this a thousand times if you've ever been a client of mine.) But it's true! So, visit my new page and let me know what you think.

Ok, back to work, and I hope you enjoy your weekend.

P.S. - The holidays are just around the corner. Are you stressed out due to the loss of a loved one, or are stressing over not having the finances to buy presents for the ones you love? Regardless of the issue causing you stress and discomfort, keep tapping and performing our stress relief meditation protocol. They both go hand-in-hand, are compliment each other. These work if you actually do them.

Five Short Pointers Using EFT Tapping and Medical Massage

Here is a list of five short pointers I found (somewhere) and figured I’d post them here on our blog, as they seem relevant to EFT Tapping in Las Vegas and Medical Massage Las Vegas style. You can use these pointers for just about anything and everything in your daily life if you really think about it.

Whatever you avoid, somebody or something else has to pick up. Emotions are energy in motion. If you don't experience them, then the energy either goes into your body and is stored there or it goes out into the world. Why would you make others experience what you, yourself, are avoiding? (Author’s note: Avoiding is one of the biggest opportunities with EFT Tapping.) Avoided and unresolved issues are stored in the subconscious (and the physical body, IMHO) and we have to tackle these issues directly if we want resolution. Medical Massage Las Vegas style (for your physical body) can assist with this as well.

When energy is blocked or can't move, it stagnates. In your body, the restricted energy goes into adjacent muscles and organs and causes illness. In your personality, restricted energy flows into the patterns that you are least aware of and they run. In groups, restricted energy flows into the people whose attention is weakest and they are flooded. When energy stagnates, change the configuration or pay the consequences. This is where Medical Massage Las Vegas style really comes into play. I work your physical body with massage and work your mind and energy body with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas.

Consistent EFT Tapping practice builds momentum. Momentum doesn't just go away. It has to go somewhere. When attention is not present, momentum flows into old patterns and powers them. The more you practice EFT Tapping, the longer you practice, the more important attention becomes. There are no vacations when working out unresolved issues.

Respect the rhythms of practice. When you are tense and on edge in your EFT Tapping practice, just rest. When you are relaxed and open, push deep into the issue you wish to resolve. Glass doesn't bend; it breaks. Water doesn't move until you open a channel. Once again, Medical Massage Las Vegas style ‘opens the channel’ with your physical body and tapping works on the mind and energy body. Do you now see the mind-body connection?

Old ways (Habbits)

Once you see through a pattern using the EFT Tapping techniques, once you see what you've been doing, thinking, behaving, you can't go back. Ignorance may have been bliss, but you aren't there anymore. This means you can’t use your old excuses anymore, or use your old patterns and behaviors as a crutch anymore. Thus, you need to be prepared to live your (new) life without the old thoughts, actions and beliefs.

Hopefully this short blog post will entice you to begin or to continue on with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas as well as your Medical Massage Las Vegas style. It’s a marvelous mind and body healing technique, yet it’s not just theory. You actually have to DO it! If you don’t know where to begin, contact me. This information is provided below. Enjoy your weekend, I know I will.

EFT Tapping In Las Vegas With Energy Work

Concerning EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, just like most anything else, there is body action of some kind. Of course that has to be. I must raise my arms and place my hands and fingers on the client’s face and body to tap on the meridian points while I teach the client how to do it themselves. But what is my body action an expression of? That's the question.

Is it an expression of my own small mind, trying to do something? Or is it an expression of the deeper sense of unity? Is it creating goodness out of badness, when a client is stressed out, or in a weakened condition, or injured? Do I think that there is something wrong, and I need to fix it?

This is seeing only the relative world. This is seeing only chaos, where in fact there is perfect order. If I don't see the order, then the order does not influence the client using EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, massage, or anything else.

The client cannot see the order, balance, harmonious universe, because of their temporary condition of stress, anxiety, physical pain, etc. If I don't see perfection, then the client also doesn't see that.

When someone feels pain, there is attachment to that area of the mind/body. So one might think that, if you are attached, in some sense your mind is strong there. But it is just very stuck there.

Attachment is weakness. If my mind is strong, it is free and not stuck. Mind is weak there in that sore place or injured place, so if I touch the client using EFT Tapping in Las Vegas there in that sore or injured place with a free mind, then I can release the attachment.

So the nature of what transpires between us, the client and me, the quality or flavor of what transpires between us, carries the quality, flavor, or taste of the source of that. If it comes from my small mind, then it carries that flavor; that characteristic. It is not that it is nothing, in this case, but it's limited. It's not limitless. It is not infinite. It's finite.

So what is the point of all that?

It is very important for me, and clients, to begin to truly understand how it is that energy pervades everything. It is everything there is. So if I think, "I am going to move energy from me to you", or attempt to channel or move energy from Heaven or God or whatever to you, this is limited thinking and a bit of a mistake.

Because how can that happen? It's already there.

Attitude Adjustment

This post on our EFT Tapping in Las Vegas blog is entitled ‘attitude adjustment’ because over the past couple of weeks I’ve seen a lot of attitudes that need adjusting. I’m not talking (just) clients, but fellow health and wellness professionals also. (Including myself at times. Chuckles.)

What am I referring to? Well, to begin with, beliefs. We all have them, yet how entrenched in them are we? Here are just a couple of examples. Further below I’ll explain how this ties in with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas.

I’ve had clients come in with their own diagnosis (from some website) and have determined that they need trigger point therapy. They find my page and schedule an appointment. I can determine rather quickly if trigger points are present, and if not, I don’t perform trigger point therapy. Yet, they still ‘believe’ they have trigger points and want me to continue on. Sorry sorry, love me love me, that’s not how I work. Most understand this, yet there’s always a few who think differently (and that’s OK.) This is especially true of EFT Tapping in Las Vegas as most people have no idea that the mind/body are One, and the mind runs the body. (That’s OK also.)

Perhaps a better example is on a Facebook group of fellow massage therapists. I posted a question in regards to ‘earthing’ or ‘grounding’ sheets and such, asking if any other therapists used them, and if so, if they could see results with the clients. I (of course) got a couple ‘poo-poo’ replies that this is ‘woo’ therapy, etc., etc. What’s more concerning about their replies is that I provided a link to science and evidence based studies that determine that this isn’t ‘woo’ therapy (such as EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, Grounding or Earthing or Therapeutic Clay applied to the body) and if they want more information on it to read the studies provided. No response. Oh well.

The issue with all of this isn’t that I ask clients and or fellow practitioners to ‘believe’ as I do, as with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas. What I’m asking for is an open mind in an attempt to assist clients by any means possible, even if these means are outside their ‘belief zone.’ (A few of the replies from fellow therapists included a comment such as, “I’m a bodyworker and that’s all I do.” I can almost hear the grunting and knuckle-dragging from here.) Not only that, but why is there a need to criticize something you don’t even know anything about?

Do I know if all or some of these therapies work? No, I don’t. I do my best with what I’ve learned how to perform. Yet, if I can’t determine if you have trigger points, or determine if being grounded on my table works or EFT Tapping in Las Vegas works, and decide to try those methods or something else (with no cost to the client,) does it sound like such a bad idea? The clients I work with don’t think so. Almost all appreciate the extra effort.

Another huge topic now-a-days is the placebo effect, especially with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas. I’ve already written about that in another blog post so I won’t belabor the topic. I’ll suffice it to say that if you, or someone you know, is suffering with chronic pain, you or them could care less if the results (getting out of pain) are placebo or not. Yes or no? I’ve yet to have one client (with which I’ve had thousands over the past twelve years) tell me or complain to me that they are now out of pain and it’s all in the mind, and that is not sufficient. Laughing. Sorry, that’s funny to me. If it's not funny to you, I guess you've not experienced chronic pain in a debilitating manner.

The example above occurs all the time with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas and I’ve never had a client complain that their pain is gone, yet it was some form of ‘mind trick.’ (This is because I also explain the mind/body connection.)

Ok, let’s get to the real topics at hand, which are beliefs. To begin, I’m going to quote one of my Aikido Sensei’s in regards to a few questions I asked him many years ago. His replies had a profound impact on me and it’s why I’m using it below. It’s also why I resumed my EFT Tapping in Las Vegas techniques.

Here is the question I asked him: “Do you believe we have a purpose in life?" (Just about any question would do as long as the words ‘believe’ or ‘belief’ are in them.) His reply is listed here.

Sensei’s reply: “I don't ‘believe that we do, and I don't ‘believe’ that we don't have a purpose. There is a big difference between the word ‘belief’ and the word ‘faith.’ When I believe something to be so, then I tend to see everything as if it backs up that belief, and distrust or reject anything that clearly doesn't support that belief. In other words, belief is narrowing down, or limiting, of that which can be experienced ‘as it is.’”

“Whereas if I have faith, there doesn't need to be any object of that faith. Faith is an opening, an acceptance, and it provides an ability to be with whatever arises in confidence. So belief is quite limiting and therefore somewhat dangerous, while faith is freeing.”

“So, now let's return to the important question: “How will this help me in my practice to know this? “What is my practice?”

“My practice is to be completely present in this moment and to experience whatever arises fully. And that's it. There is nothing more, because everything else is imagined or constructed. We have sensation, we have emotion, and we have thought. All three of these arise, often simultaneously, and we invariably take them to be fact, while actually, they are only the movement of energy.”

Sensei writes further, yet I’ll leave it at that. I could probably leave out the last two paragraphs as well, as I’m looking specifically at how he defines ‘belief’ and ‘faith,’ yet I enjoy them so much I included them.

Point being, can you see the difference between belief and faith? If you are an evidence or science person you may disregard this. Yet, if so, I would ask you, “Didn’t you have faith in forming your hypothesis (as defined above) prior to determining the evidence or lack thereof?”

I really don’t know as I’m not a scientist, nor do I know any personally, and so much evidence is tainted to the viewpoint of the agenda being pushed by the researcher or the money that is funding the research that it’s questionable just based on those assumptions (which I see a lot of).

To wrap this up, I suppose I can say that what I’m looking for in anyone is just a bit more faith, an opening up of the mind to at least try different therapies; especially if it’s not costing you any (more) money to try it. Yes, I perform what clients ask me to do, and I actually invite discussion with clients in regards to what they want to do. Most clients I see want to eliminate pain, regardless of the technique used.

This may seem like I’m complaining here, (which I’m sure I am,) yet I have my preferences as well. I enjoy people with open minds. Levels of education or experience are not nearly as important as attitudes; at least for me. With EFT Tapping in Las Vegas, after it’s explained, often gets a lot of funny looks from clients. That’s OK. Guess what? I’m not getting the funny looks or complaints after they are out of pain, and that’s really what I’m striving for.

Aspects And EFT Tapping

Now that we have moved into our new location, EFT Tapping in Las Vegas is in full swing. Here’s our address to our physical location one more time. This is also the location of my Summerlin massage business.

Sun City Summerlin Las Vegas
9330 Sun City Boulevard
Las Vegas, Nevada 89134
(702) 203-5670

The topic of this post is ‘aspects’ and the different forms which arise while we are performing EFT Tapping in Las Vegas. I’m going to be using one of my clients as an example, one I have used before. This client and I have worked together for over two years now, mostly performing just Summerlin massage. Only in the past six months have I introduced EFT Tapping in Las Vegas to him.

What is an aspect? An aspect could be a totally un-related subject or topic that one needs to perform tapping on that creeps into our mind while tapping. Yet, that’s not what I’m getting at, here. What I’m getting at is another issue that’s related to the larger issue one is performing EFT Tapping in Las Vegas on. An example in regards to our physical body would be, if we are performing a bench press. The main muscle doing the work is the pec major. Yet, the supplemental muscles that assist are the front deltoid and the triceps. Thus, the ‘aspects’ of this movement are the front deltoid and triceps; not the prime mover. A psychological example used here at EFT Tapping in Las Vegas would be as follows: You are performing tapping on the issue of quitting smoking. A supplementary aspect of this may be the thoughts that arise while tapping in regards to the enjoyment of lighting up the cigarette. Or, that you get to sneak out back for five minutes to smoke the cigarette.

Now that we have an idea of what ‘aspects’ are, let me continue on in regards to EFT Tapping in Las Vegas with the client. In a previous post I discussed the death of his wife and how we tapped through that. That’s coming along quite nicely, yet, think of all the aspects associated with losing a loved one. The aspects we worked on today with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas was in regards to this clients four daughters. Although all four are grown, they vary in age from early thirties to their forties, losing their mother was hard on them. It’s also very hard on the client, as he now feels completely responsible for all four daughters.

To be more specific in regards to the aspects we worked on with EFT Tapping in Las Vegas was the clients feeling of guilt for allowing his wife to pass away, and, now being the sole parent and solely responsible to the four daughters. This was a long two hour session. We first performed EFT Tapping in Las Vegas on these aspects for about an hour, then we spent the second hour performing Summerlin massage. (I was hoping the tapping would relax his physical body, first.)

What was most interesting during this session was the actual physical Summerlin massage. The client was still tense, as he always is, and I decided to perform massage and EFT Tapping in Las Vegas with him simultaneously. I’ve been performing Summerlin massage for many years, thus I can sense and know when a client is constricted and tense. So, I had to communicate a great deal with my client; this wasn’t a ‘lay there and get rubbed’ form of massage.

Some areas of his body were very relaxed, mostly his lower extremities, yet his arms, neck and head were still tense. (The client is a big thinker, not a big physical movement kind of guy. Thinkers seem to always have issues with their head, neck, shoulders and arms.) The relaxed areas of his body were massaged, yet the tense areas I verbally communicated with him and massaged him at the same time. EFT Tapping in Las Vegas was performed with him on the tight areas, such as while massaging him I’d ask him what he’s thinking about, he would tell me, and then I’d create a set-up statement and we’d massage (as opposed to performing EFT Tapping in Las Vegas on the meridian points) and verbally go through the set up statement. Listed below are just a couple of the set-up statements:

“Even though I feel guilty for Xxxx dying, and I’m holding this guilt in my shoulders, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

“Even though I’m now a single parent and take on all the responsibility of being the single parent to my daughters, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

“Even though I’m holding all this tension and stress in my neck and shoulders, I forgive myself completely for Xxxx's death.”

I had many others yet can’t recall them at this time. It may sound corny to say that I ‘wing-it’ with clients, yet that’s exactly what I do here at EFT Tapping in Las Vegas. Why? Because each session is personal to the individual and their unique situation. This isn’t something we can write a script for, especially when we start getting down to specific aspects of each issue. It’s also why EFT Tapping in Las Vegas works so well.

Thus, the client made some good progress. I was attempting to assist him in allowing his mind and body to coordinate. For the client to sense the tension in parts of his body (through my hands and Summerlin massage) and how it’s tied to his mind (using EFT Tapping in Las Vegas.) To just let go. It’s like attempting to fall asleep. We can’t make ourselves sleep; we not-do, and just allow.

Ok, this is getting long, so I’ll end this post here. The more I write about EFT Tapping in Las Vegas the more difficult I find to do so. It’s to be performed and then perhaps we can discuss the results. Discussing or writing about the ‘how’ is a tough row to hoe.
